  • The Plein Air Club welcomes everyone in the Bakersfield and Kern County community - no art experience needed.
    Come as you are!

Hosted by Bakersfield artist Madison Cowan, who believes:
“We are all capable of making great things. The first step is to try. The second is to do.”

  • The Plein Air Club offers uninstructed time once a month to create, connect, and enjoy painting in local outdoor locations.

    What is Plein Air?
“En plein air” means painting outdoors - or in our case to make outside together.

We’re a community of Kern County artists and art lovers of all ages.

Membership is free. Community is priceless.

You do not have to be an artist to make good work or share in an arts community.

We like you as you are.
