What we are learning
July 8 1-4pm Week 1: Seeing Value + Materials
Learning to see light, shadow, and simple shapes. Creating a simple value study focusing on structure, not detail. We’ll get familiar with tools, setup, and how to simplify what you see into clear light and dark relationships.
July 15 1-4pm Week 2: Color Mixing
Building painting structure. Establish composition and block in major shapes. You’ll learn how to mix intentionally and understand color relationships in a practical, usable way.
July 22 1-4pm Week 3: Form, Light, and Depth
Introducing controlled color relationships. We’ll focus on building the dimension of how light describes form and creates a sense of space.
July 29 1-4pm Week 4: Final Painting + Integration
Making decisions and resolving the painting. You’ll bring everything together into a resolved painting, with guidance throughout the process.
If you have any questions before we begin all studio materials, preparation, or anything else feel free to reach out. Most importantly, come as you are. Our goal is practice, exploration, and building confidence.. not perfection.
