About Madison
A bit about Madison.
I am Madison Cowan, a Bakersfield native, creative, and owner of Madison Cowan Studio. I have developed my art practice over several years, working impressionistically in oils, printmaking, photography, and mixed media. My work currently explores the juxtaposition between life of people and landscape in rural and urban environments.
As an artist, my creative practice has led me to many opportunities to connect with people invested in enhancing their lives through art. My passion is creating along side individuals with learning and physical differences. Creating specific curriculum for individuals with traumatic brain injuries, down syndrome, autism, and other differences. It is truly my favorite way to connect and create.
I have been blessed with various speaking opportunities for local and international art and educational groups on the importance of the creative practices and strategies for engaging people with artistic values. I believe in the essentialism of art and its power to impact our culture and peoples’ lives.
I believe we are all divinely created by God with purpose and the choice to pursue that purpose through free will.
